Uploaded files to Roam will be sent to Google Drive!

You could use the Copy Extension button below to individually install this extension. To install, just paste anywhere in your Roam graph and click "Yes, I Know What I'm Doing".

Manual Installation

If the extension doesn't work after using the copy extension button above, try installing manually using the instructions below.

First create a block with the text {{[[roam/js]]}} on any page in your Roam DB. Then, create a single child of this block and type three backticks. A code block should appear. Copy this code and paste it into the child code block in your graph:

var existing = document.getElementById("roamjs-google-drive-main");
if (!existing) {
  var extension = document.createElement("script");
  extension.src = ""; = "roamjs-google-drive-main";
  extension.async = true;
  extension.type = "text/javascript";

Finally, click "Yes, I Know What I'm Doing".

First, navigate to the roam/js/google page to log into Roam with your Google account. Once you grant RoamJS access to upload files for you, your credentials will be stored either on this page, or in your browser if you have "Store Locally" checked on.

Anytime you upload a file to Roam, the Google Drive extension will intercept the upload and send it to your Google Drive account instead. It will insert a new google drive component after a successful upload.

The Google Drive component is made of two parts: the preview and the open in Drive button. The preview will render the contents of the file inline within Roam. Currently, only images and pdfs are supported. The open in Drive button will be below the preview and will take you to the file in google drive on click.

You could configure the extension on the roam/js/google-drive page.

By default, files are uploaded to the RoamJS folder in your drive. You could change the name of this folder using the Folder field within the Upload tab. Make sure it is a brand new folder name, as this extension does not have access to preexisting folders.
