Live Preview in Roam42 allows you to hover over a page or block reference and preview and edit the contents of that page or block, without leaving the page you are on.
How to Use
By default, Live Preview is set as disabled. You can enable it to preview page reference only, or both page and block references.
To enable this feature:
In any block in your graph, add the following text:
#42Setting LivePreview on
Using the Roam42 'hamburger' in the upper right-hand corner of the screen, select `Live Preview (inactive)' to enable this extension, as shown:
To enable Live Preview for Page Reference only, select
To enable Live Preview for both Page References and Block Reference, select
Active with block refs
Hover over a page reference and the page preview will appear.
Once enabled, you can toggle through the three states (Preview Page only, Page and Block Refs or Disabled) using the following keyboard shortcut:
Alt + L on Windows or
Ctrl + Shft + L on Mac
😎 Cool features to try 😎:
Once your preview is showing - you can edit that page or block right in that preview. How cool is that?
You can edit the delay time for when the Live Preview appears. To do so, add the following block text to any block in your graph:
#42Setting LivePreviewDelay 100
The number on the right is in milliseconds, where 100 is the default value used.
