Find the phrase. Keep your place.
Search the page you’re working on, even when the text is tucked inside folded blocks. Preview each highlighted occurrence, then select the exact phrase when you’re ready to edit.
What you can do
- Search the current main-window page, or a zoomed-in block and its descendants.
- Find words and phrases regardless of capitalization, including text in folded blocks.
- Visit every occurrence in page order, including repeated matches within the same block. Navigation wraps at either end.
- Reveal folded ancestors as you move to a match.
- Reopen or refocus search without losing the selected occurrence on the same page, when it is still available.
Installation

- Press Cmd/Ctrl+Enter to select the current occurrence in its block for editing. The panel stays open.
If the default shortcut is already assigned, choose another shortcut for Find In Page: Open in Settings → Hotkeys. The panel also has buttons for previous, next, focus, and close.
Search field shortcuts
| Shortcut | Action |
|---|---|
| Enter or Down arrow | Preview the next match |
| Shift+Enter or Up arrow | Preview the previous match |
| Cmd/Ctrl+Enter | Select the current match for editing |
| Escape | Close the panel and clear highlights |
Escape also closes the panel when a panel button has focus. Ordinary Enter in the outliner keeps its usual editing behavior.

Search scope and details
- Search covers the current main-window page or block outline. It doesn’t search the whole graph, right sidebar, linked references, or text resolved from block references and embeds.
- Matching is literal and case-insensitive, with surrounding query spaces ignored. Regular expressions and fuzzy matching aren’t supported.
- The counter counts individual, non-overlapping occurrences. After navigation, it shows your position, such as 1 of 2.
- Search uses saved block text. Matches in hidden markup, such as link destinations, can be selected for editing even when there is no visible inline highlight.
- After editing or changing pages, run Find In Page: Open again to refresh the results.
- Folded ancestors revealed by navigation stay expanded after you close the panel.
- Inline highlighting covers the first 250 matching blocks plus the selected result’s block. Navigation still includes every occurrence.
