Giphy

Find just the right GIF and add a little personality to your notes.

Quickly insert GIFs and MEMEs into Roam without leaving the editor.

Usage

Type /gif in any block and select Giphy: Insert GIF from the slash menu, or run Giphy: Insert GIF from Roam's Command Palette. This opens the GIF picker overlay at the current block and cursor position.

In the picker:

  • Type to search GIPHY results (or browse trending by default).
  • Use arrow keys or hover to select a GIF.
  • Press Command-C on macOS or Ctrl-C on Windows and Linux to copy the selected GIF as Markdown.
  • Press Enter (or click) to insert it at the cursor.
  • Press Esc to close.

The extension inserts markdown image syntax directly into your block, for example:
